Having epilepsy or caring for someone who does can be challenging. When epilepsy is diagnosed, it affects the whole family. Sometimes the practical problems of daily living – from insurance, to jobs, to medical care – may seem overwhelming. At other times, it helps just to talk to people who understand what its like to live with epilepsy.
Some people and their families living with epilepsy report a need for support and education within the epilepsy community. The Epilepsy Foundation of Hawaii’s Talk Story meetings are designed to provide support to those who are interested in connecting with others living with epilepsy, and to learn from guest speakers on topics associated with epilepsy.
The meetings listed below are open to anyone living or connected to epilepsy as well as for family members or caregivers to individuals living with epilepsy. These epilepsy groups are not intended to furnish medical advice or professional psychotherapy.
